NANOSSR offers an Electrolytic Polishing & Etching System ELOPREP 102 from Metkon Instrument Inc. ELOPREP 102 is an automatic and programmable electrolytic polishing and etching equipment for the preparation of metallographic specimens. It is designed for the last step of polishing after fine grinding and can reduce the sample preparation time compared to mechanical polishing. It is perfect for steel but can also be used to prepare other metallic materials. By adjusting the electrolyte and parameters, it can also be used to etch polished samples before microscope examination. With the scanning function of ELOPREP, the correct voltage of polishing as well as etching can be defined automatically. ELOPREP 102 is suitable for both normal and low temperatures electrolytic polishing. The water connection and circulation system are specially designed for both purposes. The polishing & etching unit can be connected to either city water for normal polishing or an external cooling unit for low temperature polishing at subzero temperatures. No separate or additional equipment is necessary for this purpose. Additional polishing and etching units can be connected to the same control unit. Thus, two polishing & etching units can be operated individually. This is an extremely useful feature, especially for specimens that require different electrolytes for polishing and etching.
